Aya has over 20 years of experience in medical and scientific communications, and is responsible for comprehensive service offers for pharmaceutical medical affairs and marketing clients. Strategic planning based on the evidence with market knowledge is her forte, along with market-shaping consultation and activities to support pharmaceutical companies engage in evidence communications with healthcare professionals.
Aya’s responsibilities include leading the medical affairs function for MEDiSTRAVA in Japan and partnering with colleagues across market access and health economics and outcomes research in a fully integrated approach. As part of this role, Aya works closely with medical affairs and communications teams in ApotheCom and functional leads within the MEDiSTRAVA Consulting division to bring the best of MEDiSTRAVA strategy and delivery for global pharma and biotech seeking support in Japan and extending global capability for Japanese biopharma companies.
Aya was the first agency leader to offer a leading Japanese pharmaceutical company a strategic planning and consultation service to prepare for their medical affair drug launch. Her pioneering effort included the introduction of value communication in agency capabilities. Her group led the trend of patient-centric communication and supported health and science literacy projects.
Aya obtained a BA in biology from the University of California at Berkeley, USA, and a BA in public health from the University of Tokyo, Japan.
