Skip to contentThis year’s MedComms Day theme, Pride in Profession, gives us an opportunity to reflect on the importance of our work in Patient Engagement.
Within the Patient Engagement team, no two days are the same. From advising our clients on patient engagement strategy to creating patient-facing materials, the variety of our work reflects the many different ways we can bring patient perspectives into medical communications.
Some of the reasons we’re proud to work in Patient Engagement
1. Making complex science truly accessible
Patients have a right to receive information in a way that they can understand. A key part of our role is applying health literacy principles and plain language to make complex scientific information accessible, while tailoring materials based on patients’ and caregivers’ needs and preferences. Clear, accessible health information can help patients understand more about their care and treatment, equip them with knowledge and confidence, and ultimately allow them to take a more active role in healthcare decision-making.
2. Ensuring patient and caregiver perspectives are heard
It’s crucial that patients and caregivers have a voice in the decisions that affect them. We work closely with people affected by different health conditions to understand their experiences, priorities, and unmet needs. This ensures that the strategies and materials we develop with our clients are relevant, inclusive, and reflect what matters most to patients and caregivers.
Whether we’re creating materials or gathering insights, our work is ultimately about helping patients feel informed, represented, and heard. This is what makes Patient Engagement such a rewarding area to work in – and why we are proud to be part of it!
